A dystopian short story
The year was 2060 - twenty years since the People’s Party came to power and the North American Union was formed. James Knowles was sitting on the couch in his living room, watching the news on television, a portrait of the Founder of the People’s Party hanging above him, as the State mandates the portrait be hung in every home and public place of gathering.
James heard a ding from his smartphone, and looks at the notification. His score dropped fifty points. On the news program, pundits were talking about the People’s Party’s latest measures:
